It was such a thrill to catch up with Steph Lowe, The Natural Nutritionist on this episode!
We share much the same philosophy around food and are passionate about sharing this with our clients and community.
Steph has a fantastic new book out called “The Real Food Athlete”, so we chat about that, as well as our support for the “JERF” approach to eating (Just Eat Real Food).
We cover off on the low carbohydrate/high fat diet that we often prescribe to our clients and why this works for most people and the myths and obstacles we are faced with when prescribing this diet.
Steph and I tackle to government’s food guidelines and why this method of eating in most cases doesn’t work, why using Google to find out the best diet for you is not helpful and the confusion around healthy fats!

On this episode, we catch up with Richie, owner of Core Espresso (Darby Street, Newcastle) to chat all things REAL food.
Richie called his cafe “Core” to represent nourishing his customers from the inside out, which he certainly does very well. Core Espresso offers simple, minimal and tasty whole foods, taking a unique real food approach to cafe dining.
As two real food nerds, we had a great discussion about eating seasonally and locally, making cooking simple, fermented foods and drinks and so much more!
If you’re in or around Newcastle, I would highly recommend checking out the cafe for a delicious, nutrient dense meal. As you can hear in the episode, the cafe is buzzing with warm vibes and friendly people!

I have had SO many questions and comments about my pregnancy that I decided to do a whole podcast episode about it!
This chat is open and honest, from pre-conception, to discovering I was pregnant, through to my battle with “morning” sickness and how this pregnancy has affected my life so far.
I do get a little emotional during this episode (blame the hormones!), but I really enjoyed sharing my own thoughts and experiences of this journey so far.
I think it’s so important to address choices available to pregnant women, as often you are made to feel like you have none!
What I would LOVE is if you could share this chat with your friends, family and colleagues who are pregnant or are planning to have children.
I hope you are empowered to move through your pregnancy with the help of this information and me sharing my experiences with you.

This week, I am thrilled to be joined by the one and only Damian Kristof, nutritionist, co-founder of The Wellness Couch (and the fabulous Wellness Guys podcast), chiropractor, speaker, naturopath and founder of Forage Cereal.
I am so inspired by the path Damian has carved out for himself and aspire to follow in his footsteps, thus it was such an honour to have him on the show!
Damian has over 20 years of experience and an in-depth knowledge of the body, nervous system, food functions and responses, which makes me super excited. What Damian does so well is focusing on food as the key to unlocking optimal health and wellness, presenting this information in a digestible (excuse the pun) and easily understandable way.
We had lot of fun on this episode discussing some of our favourite (and common) interests, including trends in the way we eat, being on purpose, “experts” in the wellness industry, philosophies of eating and nutrition and so much more.
